Viewpoints - The Ravings of a P*ss Artist!7/11/2000 Back on track? Firstly, sorry about not updating recently. Well theres been a few cock ups recently, and I seem to have put the kiss of death on the team by saying, earlier in the season that our last minute goal conceding problems seemed to be over. Good to see Ricco back, earlier than expected, I've got to admit I winced every time he went into a challenge for the ball in his first couple of appearances, but he seems OK, can't wait until he's back fully fit and giving Ricketts and Deano the service thats been lacking. Speaking of Michael Ricketts I was unnerved to see comments in the Sunday tabloids regarding Premier clubs keeping an eye on his progress etc, and generally hinting that he would be available at the right price (you know what the media are like for trying to unsettle our players). Big Sam was in the papers again crying poverty, even free transfers are out of our league it seems, can you imagine if we'd invested some of the Gudjohnsen/Jensen money in Jason Roberts? I'm sure we'd be competing for one of the top two places now instead of nine points adrift having played more games. Not to worry I'm sure the White (Elephant) Hotel is fully booked up at the moment and the money is rolling in!, Lets see if any of the 700 grand from the sale of Mark Fish is made available, and if not, why not?. I heard that the Directors took part in a web chat/forum type thing and fucked off because they didnt like what was being asked, if anyone has more details get in touch with us. I'm getting pissed off at the moment with TV coverage of us, I know were not a fashionable club (I wouldnt want it any other way either), but all we ever get on any of the highlights programmes is the goals, sometimes not even that. Whereas Backwater Rovers are never off the telly - often their name used in the same sentence as the phrase 'push for promotion' even though theyre only in 8th position, and thats only because they got money coming out of their arseholes!!. Even with the bit of a dip in form, the position we're in far surpasses the expectations I had Pre-season and this is made even better by the Birkenhead and Old Gold Scumbags languishing down near the bottom. COME ON YOU WHITES!!!!! 30/8/2000 Nice one Sam! What can I say ?, what a top drawer start to the season eh ?, I for one didn't expect us to be unbeaten four games into the season, but we are!, the sweetest of all the wins coming at the Birkenhead shithole - what a shrewd move by Big Sam regarding the tactics he employed for that game both onfield and off, the look on Aldridges face at the final whistle was certainly a sight for sore eyes! (first time in ten years wasn't it ?), and maybe its time the FA did something about the surely illegal methods that are employed to aid Challinors wanky long throws. Bradford have slapped a £1m + price tag on Isiah Rankin, I just hope the board realise that if he carries on like he's doing and we don't get him signed up for the long term, questions will be asked - just like with the Jon Newsome episode the season before last, Isiah should realise his best chance of success lies with us, rather than the annual underachievers - Birmingham. I would be really chuffed to see a starting front two of Ricketts and Rankin, whether that will happen remains to be seen. It's too bad that the game against QPR was called off, especially as Farrelly wasn't selected for the final Eire squad, I hope it doesn't break up our momentum, anyway, justice has finally been done regarding Trashmere, COME ON YOU WHITES !.... Click here to listen to Big Sam on the 'late arrival' tactic (RealPlayer required) 12/8/2000 Here we go again! Well, the season finally starts today and I ain't hoping for much though with all the injuries and of course the sale of Eidur I think goals will be hard to come by this time (saying that I am a pessimistic git), but who knows maybe Ricketts will come good, but for today... well, a front line of Warhurst and Bo Hansen will hardly strike terror into the Burnley defenders. I was pleased to see a wide player arrive in the shape of Regi Blinker, although the time he spent up in that tin-pot league across the border can't have improved his game!, but I really think playing with no wingers would be suicide, especially as we've no fowards at the moment who seem to be capable of pulling something out of nothing like Eidur used to. On a strange note I think that Big Sams paranoid cloak and dagger act regarding these trialists has been piss funny, surely nobody is called 'Paul Pezos' in real life!, and I've been on quite a few Vicenza fanpages this week and alothough my italian lingo isnt too good ( ie non existent) I didnt see any references to a 'Ricardo Emmanuel' nor 'Eman Emmanuel', I think the comment Sam made that they'd have to 'see if they could sort something out' regarding the player sums up the financial situation - that we're umming and ayeing if we can afford a player whos available on a free!, wheres all the transfer money, Sky parachute payments etc gone ?, I read in the Express today that Burnden Leisure had made a 60 million quid loss since it was floated, I knew that that was a bad mistake, the writing was on the wall when the company involved in the 'reverse takeover' bollocks became known to be a toy company who's greatest acheivment to date had been making facking 'rag dolly anna' and 'ninja turtle' dolls, or something like that. Nevermind maybe when the Hotel opens that will bail us out of the shit ?....perhaps not! Anyway enough moaning for now, see you at The Reebok.....COME ON YOU WHITES!!!!! |
